MEMBERSHIP CLASSIFICATIONS

On March 25th 2009, Iwo Flags applied for a 501(C) 19 non-profit classification with the Internal Revenue
Service, requiring specific restrictions, and changing membership classifications to allow donations to be tax
deductible. Subsequently a greater portion of membership must qualify as War Veterans, having serving during
specific periods of war.

Member: An active duty, reservist, retired or honorably discharged, War Veteran who serves/served in the
Marine Corps, or Navy as Corpsmen, Chaplains, or Religious Program Specialists, who serves/served with a
 Marine unit, during the following periods;

December 7, 1941 through December 31, 1946         June 27, 1950 through January, 31, 1955

February 28, 1961 through May 7, 1975  (Served in the Republic of Viet Nam during this period)

 August 5, 1964 through May 7, 1975;

August 2, 1990, and ending on the date prescribed by Presidential Proclamation or by law.

Member applications must be accompanied by a completed certification form.

Associate
and Friend membership is limited to a small quantity of total membership, please contact
 Iwo Flags for availability of these limited memberships.

Associate: An honorably discharged veteran of the Marine Corps, or Navy Corpsman, Chaplain, or Religious
Program Specialist, who served with a Marine unit, but did not serve during the qualifying War Veteran periods.

Friend: A spouse, widow, widower, ancestor or lineal descendant of a Marine or a Navy Corpsman,
Chaplain or Religious Program Specialist meeting specific requirements, please contact Iwo Flags for further information.

Flag Sponsorship is limited to twelve sponsors annually. Iwo Flags will accept flag sponsorship
applications for individuals, companies, corporations and or associations that have an association
with, or support, Iwo Flags and or the Marine Corps. Flag sponsorship is not a part of the
Iwo Flags membership program
.
